This is a common question: do your clients absolutely need a Gmail address to leave a Google review for your business?

Yes, a Google account is required

To post a review on Google, a user must have a Google account.

  • Clients with a Gmail address: they will be directly redirected to your business’s Google page to leave their review, with no extra steps.

  • Clients with another email address (Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.): when they click on the link to leave a review, Google will prompt them to create an account.

Quick Google account creation with another email address

The process is simple and fast:

  1. The user can use their existing email address (e.g., Outlook, Yahoo, etc.).

  2. The setup takes less than two minutes.

  3. Once the account is created, Google automatically redirects the client to your business page so they can leave their review.
