Custom fields allow you to customize the content of your messages and can be used as filters in InputKit reports. They also allow you to associate important information with your sendings.

Custom fields are useful for:

  1. Adding information automatically to email and SMS content.

  2. Filtering in reports when analyzing results.

  3. Have important information in the contexts of the questionnaires.

How to add custom fields in the platform?

  • Automatically: this can be done via our API! ๐Ÿ‘‡

If you use a custom integration with our API, you can add, for example, a custom field for patient age range to then do demographic analysis in reports.

For this example, we will take the email step, but the process is the same for both.

How to use custom fields in message content?

Once the custom fields have been added to the settings, you can use them to customize the content of your messages (email & SMS).

Custom fields are located at the top of the field for writing content:

  1. To add a custom field to your content, click on the desired field to insert it at the appropriate place in the text:
    โ€‹
    โ€‹

In this example, the patient's appointment date will be automatically added to the message content.
    โ€‹
    โ€‹

  2. If you do manual sending, you will need to map this field to get the value filled.

For an individual sending

You have to enter the value in the fields when you fill the information for the sending. The fields are always on the right side of the window for sending a sequence:

In this example, the patient will only see her appointment date in the message content. Her age range information will only be visible in the sending information and in the reports.

Here is an example of the message received with the custom fields filled in:

For multiple sending:

If you do multiple sendings with CSV files, you will need to add a column for each custom field:

You will then see a preview of the import:

How to use a custom field to filter in reports?

Custom fields are found under the "Other filters" section in the report filters. For example, for the questionnaires report:

You have to click on the filter and select what you want to analyze.

For example, I can filter by age range to see only the responses from the 25-35 age group:

โš ๏ธImportant: In order for the custom field to be added to the "Other Filters" list, the following box must be checked in the custom field settings:

How are custom fields displayed in answers?

For each feedback, there is a context displayed at the top so that you have access to relevant information such as employees on the context, office, sending method, etc. Here is an example :

These details are not necessarily visible to the customers, only those that are part of the content of the message or the questionnaire are visible to the customers.

If the customer has answered anonymously, you won't be able to see the custom fields in order to respect the confidentiality of this respondent :

How to add a custom field in the answers ?

By checking the "Visible in responses" option in the custom fields settings:

This allows you to see the values of the custom fields in the context at the top of the feedback questionnaires.
